Production engineer for networks (IP, MPLS and WDM)

Location: Paris

The tasks will be assigned are:

• Configuring the backbone equipment for the production of services (Juniper and WDM)
• Allocation of IP resources to clients under the RIPE rules.
• Configuring client devices to deliver turnkey solutions
• Training of clients to ensure knowledge transfer.
• Guide on site service providers for production operations.
• Perform configuration changes for outsourced clients.
• Manage client requests for updates (DNS, RIPE, ...).
• Ensure the provisioning of resources in terms of 1GE ports on the backbone equipment.

Knowledge Requirements:

• OSI network layers
• Juniper CLI Interface (Router, Switch, Firewall)
• IP routing...
• Ethernet-based protocols (LACP, 802.1q, STP, auto-negotiate)
• IGP Protocols (OSF, ISIS or other), BGP and MPLS

Your skills are:

• Knowledge of optic fiber principles.
• WDM operation concepts
• Firewall
• Knowledge of Linux systems, authentication (SSH) and typical applications (Mail, Web, FTP, ...)

• Experience with network tools (Nagios, Cacti, NetFlow, ....)
• Knowledge of a scripting language (Perl, Python, shell, ....).
• Experience in DSL and Ethernet collection.

Profile:

We are looking for a telecom engineer with at least 2 years experience in the configuration of IP equipment. Experience on-site deployment. Ability to communicate with clients and suppliers as part of network operations. Experience in project mode operations with tracking tools (ticketing). Ability to write documentation. Working under time constraints with planning.
